Sofia Jakobsson played for Sweden at the 2023 Women's World Cup London City Lionesses are closing in on the signing of Sweden international Sofia Jakobsson from San Diego Wave. Jakobsson, 34, has made over 100 appearances for Sweden and would be a statement signing for the Women's Championship club. London City Lionesses have already signed Sweden captain Kosovare Asllani this summer as they push for promotion to the Women's Super League. Jakobsson came on as a substitute for San Diego Wave in Monday's draw with Washington Spirit but London City Lionesses are trying to complete her signing before their Women's Championship opener against Newcastle on Sunday.
