Eze was forced off injured during Arsenal's 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League last week, a match where he had opened the scoring. His absence was felt in the Carabao Cup final, as the Gunners struggled to create chances in their 2-0 defeat by Man City in the first showpiece of the season. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta confirmed post-match that Eze had been forced to miss the final with a calf injury and was due to undergo a scan in six or seven days to determine the extent of the issue. The injury forced Eze to withdraw from the England squad, with Thomas Tuchel's side due to face Uruguay and Japan in friendlies as the Three Lions build towards the World Cup. Daily Mail Sport understands Eze is expected to be out for between four to six weeks with the injury. Eberechi Eze is expected to miss around a month of the run-in with a calf injury Such a lay-off would rule Eze out of a critical run of matches as Arsenal look to seal the Premier League title, as well as chasing success in the FA Cup and Champions League. Arteta’s side are next in action in the FA Cup quarter-finals against Southampton on April 4, before facing Sporting Lisbon in the same stage of the Champions League. The first leg falls on April 7 in Portugal, four days before Arsenal host Bournemouth in the Premier League. Arsenal host the second leg on April 15. Attention will then turn to a potentially decisive clash against Man City at the Etihad on April 19, which Pep Guardiola’s side will likely have to win if they are to catch the Gunners. Arsenal are currently nine points clear of Man City in the title race, albeit their rivals still have a game in hand. The Gunners wrap up the month by hosting Newcastle on April 25. Eze was one of six Arsenal players to withdraw from international duty due to injury concerns. Arsenal's centre back pairing Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba pulled out of the Brazil and France squads, citing knee and ankle pain respectively. Jurrien Timber, Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard will also not feature for their national teams during the international break. Odegaard, who has been out for a month with a knee injury, could potentially return following the international break.
